Record: 2017 • Edition: 2017 • USC-WR-1711.0387 Berlin School, Ambient

«I love this place. Here, there is a unique atmosphere at any season. On that chilly summer evening when I came here with my friend Alexey, the air was especially thick and filled with bittersweet wettish freshness. Here, you fall into a special state, sitting on the recently scythed grass and looking down from the hill at power lines stretching away. It is here where several little worlds come together: a forest to the left and the right, a tiny village living its hasteless life under the hill, and the slight noise of a bustling city coming from far behind. And above, the steel giants of power line towers soaring against the darkening summer sky, which soon will be cut across by the Perseids. It is here where you take a rest from the hustle, and music itself fills your mind to later find its material form.»

Various Artists – Music for Sputnik-1 Vol. 1

Record: 2000-2017 • Edition: 2017 • USC-WR-1710.0381 Berlin School, Ambient, Spacesynth, Indietronica, Modern Classical

Sputnik-1 is a symbol of the embodiment of a dream into reality. When all the forces are thrown at its achievement, despite the pressure of circumstances, despite the internal turmoil in the people and the country. In 60 years after this event, we can only feel the echoes of the former glory and aspirations, but even this fills us with pride for our people, the Soviet Union and the Russian Federation, no matter what side events have marred this milestone in history. This is the main focus of our collection.

Derek Nigell – Heartbeat of the Universe

Record: 2017 • Edition: 2017 • USC-WR-1710.0380 Space Ambient, Berlin School, Electro

Cosmos – calling, mysterious, endless and magnificent… If only we could plunge into this boundless ocean of stars twinkling mystically as if they watch us from the night sky! To learn who weaves a cobweb of constellations, which helped sailors to navigate since ancient times. To dance a flying roundelay of planets in curves of Milky Way to the music of the Universe… A secret – inconceivable, enticing and fascinating! Can you hear? This is the call of distant strange worlds! Can you see? There is that star! It feels like it is sending us some message! What does it want to say? A secret… A secret… A secret… Oh how much we want to learn, to comprehend, to touch! To become a particle – a star dust particle… Where are you, the Little Prince? How’s your Rose? How’s the Fox? Are you happy? Answer, please! Silence… I’m here. I’m standing on the ground. I’m inhaling autumn gold. And the maple in the yard is waving to me with his last leaves-hands. Soon his applause shall fade… But, Universe! I’m still here and I hear you! I’m hearing the beat of your heart…

Vortex Mechanic – Wired

Record: 2017 • Edition: 2017 • USC-WR-1709.0376 Berlin School, Ambient

«It was during a walk with my friend Nickolay. Despite the fact that it was summer, the weather was really autumnal, gloomy. We were going along the route – the forest belt, and then, in an instant, the forest went apart, and we found ourselves at the place, where the giants had been living. Steel silent idols were in fact the power line towers. A light twilight; the magnificence of the giants, who stood with their legs wide apart and arms outstretched aside to hold power lines firmly. With their heads they propped up the sky, as if emphasizing their greatness and significance. Are they lonely and silent? Not at all! They are talking to each other: slowly, in a low voice. They are wired!»
